How can parents work with teachers to assure that students are successful?

STRATEGY #1: Email Routinely. I CAN NOT call every time your child misses an assignment.  I do make phone calls every week, but I always focus on the dire cases. I really want to work with you to make sure that your child doesn't fall between the cracks. You can start by examining your child's grades online (click on "View Grades Online" on the left menu). If you would like periodical updates, the best way to do this is through email. The important thing is that you need to make the initiation. Remember, you have one student in my class, I have 100!

STRATEGY #2: Use the Online Resources. In addition to the Home Access Center available at the district and school level, you can also check out your child's science grades in detail here on the website. Check periodically for updates.

STRATEGY #3: Come Visit! The best method that a parent has even done is come for a surprise visit to their child's classroom, check out their work, ask a few questions, show up on parent/teachers night - even just say hi! Your presence will make signficant impact in your child's intellectual progress.
